How to Install GE-1203 Ultrasonic Level Meter

1. Brief Introduction:

GE-1203 ultrasonic level measurement transmitters are designed to measure liquid and solids levels with a separated body, the measure range could be 10m, 20m, 30m, 40m, 50 meters. The range can be configured by the keyboard and display. The level sensor is mounted on top of the vessel or tank, it connect with the control meter by cable. It have a CE certificate.

3. Key Function of Ultrasonic Level Controller:

[PAG] when the meter is working, press this key, it will display the page P1; then press Move Key, it will entry the parameter in P1; Press one time for Page Turn, it will go to next page one time.if parameter setting is finished, press this key more than 3s, it will quit setting
[MOV] When set the parameter, press this key, move the changeable number. When finish set each number, press this key to each number again, then all number will flash, it means the parameter is set. When the display is close, press this key, the display will appear; when working, press this key 5 second, the backlight will close, press 5 second again, it will be open
[ADD] When set the parameter, press this key, the “flash number” will add 1; it could confirm the radix point too.

4. Parameter setting of Ultrasonic Level Meter:

Into setting	When meter working, press [PAG], it will display “ Menu choose Set P1”, then press [MOV], it will show “Lower limit  00000”, you will start to change the parameter, the parameter will display as below, one by one
Lower limit	Low Limit, if the meter don’t have the relay function, press [PAG] to next parameter
Upper limit	High Limit, if the meter don’t have the relay function, press [PAG] to next parameter
Current mode	Work pattern, pre-set:MOD-S. press [PAG] to next parameter
Difference	It is used to set the measure pattern 1. if set the value as zero, it will display the value of the distance from the sensor to the target 2. if set the value as the height of sensor, from the sensor to the bottom, but it could not excced the measure range; meter will display the value from the surface to the bottom When display “Difference 00000”, press [ADD] and [MOV], set suitable value; when the final digit is flashing, press [MOV ] again, the meter will save the setting; the setted value will display on the left…press [PAG] to next parameter
Address	communication address, press [ADD] and [MOV], set suitable value; press [PAG] to next parameter
Baud rate	Similar as the above。
Emission power	For ultrasonic emission power, the value could be 1-20, pre-setted
Quit	Press [PAG] more than 3 second, quite parameter setting。

5. Serial communication protocol RS-485 :

[Standard Baud Rate]
The system uses the asynchronous half-duplex communication, the baud rate could be 600~19200bps.
1. Master Meter: sent the address (1-64), then receive the data
2. Slave meter: Answer the master meter by stop, each frame sent 21 BYTE
The first 5 BYTE is water depth (5 BYTE ASC code, the unit is meter)
the BYTE 6~20 just for test in produce, no need pay attention
21st BYTE is Checksums
e.g.  the below is a data sent by the meter
30 2E 35 30 31 31 31 33 2E 37 36 31 41 5C 2D 86 3F 00 4D B5 E6
----- level = 0.501m（30 2E 35 30 31） ；
-----  6~20 just for test in produce；
----- E6 is Checksums

6. The Installation of Ultrasonic Level Sensor:

1. the liquid level could not reach the blind area
2. keep distance from the liquid feed port
3. if install outside, care for the sun and rain
4. the distance is calculated from the bottom of sensor, not the top of sensor

Wrong condition
a. the sensor not vertical
b. near the wall
c. near the feed port

The Surface should be equable, avoid the blender
